Do directional signs need braille?
No — informational and directional signage is exempt from raised-character and braille requirements under §703.1 Exception 2. This builder checks visual contrast and character legibility instead, per §703.5.
When do I need the Accessible Route icon?
Add it to any sign that's pointing toward an accessible entrance, parking area, or route — that's when ADA requires the symbol. A sign just pointing to the fitness center or restrooms doesn't need it.
Can I list more than 3 or 4 destinations on one sign?
Yes — add as many as the sign needs. The layout auto-fits your list, so text sizes itself to stay legible whether you're listing two destinations or eight.
Can I skip the heading?
Yes, it's optional. Some properties prefer a plain destination list with no "This Way" header — leave it blank and the sign adjusts.
